Victoria Junior School PTA

Victoria Junior School PTA

Victoria Junior School PTA started in January 2023 with two missions.
  1. Foster closer relationships between the staff, parents, carers and others associated with the school
  2. Engage in activities which support the school and benefit the children attending it and the parents/carers of those pupils.
Anyone who has a link to the school (parents/carers/relatives/teachers) can join the PTA. We are passionate that EVERYONE has value to add to our PTA - whether its helping type letters, make decorations, help at events, garden or clean up, cook or sell raffle tickets for a morning...
When we thought about setting up a PTA we knew it was important to keep meetings to a minimum because of working/caring responsibilities. We want to concentrate on activities that will add real value and directly improve the learning and play environment for all of our children. Times are tough in terms of funding and anything we can do as a school community will make a difference now. This year we will be focused on improving the library and the playground.
We are starting from the ground up with our first cake sale in February raising a super £155.00. We have also had great donations of both funds and items from members of the wider community (eg books/art materials).  If you would like to know more about joining the PTA we have a Whatspp group which you can add yourself to. Please see the Office for more details.

For 2023 the following roles were elected as officers of the PTA because we are required to be a properly constituted group with nominated officers:
Pip Wood (Chair)
Lisa Taylor (Treasurer)
Emily Shanks (Co-Chair/Secretary)
We are all working mums of children in Year 3 classes. There are another 11 members of the school community  who form part of the committee. At our AGM we will elect new people to the officer roles in January 2024 as required. Please consider joining the PTA as a team of like minded parents/carers to be a force for good.

King's Coronation Picnic - Thursday, 4th May 2023
We had a royal celebration at Victoria Junior School on Thursday, 4th May 2023 for our King's Coronation Picnic!
Our PTA, along with Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Begum, organised a fun-filled family afternoon for us all. There were coronation games and activities, cream teas, a raffle, ice cream, music and a magician! Our guest of honour was MP Seema Malhotra, who stayed for the whole afternoon and judged our Great Victoria Bake-Off.
Thank you to all who attended; we look forward to inviting you to more events soon!
Sports Days - 6th June and 13th June 2023
The Parent Teacher Association and parents played a crucial role in the success of our Sports Days this year. They provided help in chaperoning the children to and from the event, compiling the scoresheets and cheering the children on throughout the day.  They then provided pupils with ice-pops to cool them down upon their return to school!
